About
The Timor Hybrid was found on the island of Timor in 1927: a tree that had crossed with Robusta and doubled its chromosomes, so it still behaves like an Arabica but carries Robusta's resistance to leaf rust.
Breeders crossed it with Caturra to make Catimor and with Villa Sarchi to make Sarchimor, the parents of Castillo, Marsellesa, Parainema, Obatã and many more. Timor-Leste still grows it widely, and in Sumatra it is called Tim Tim.
