About
Caturra was found on a farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil. A single gene makes the plant short with close-set branches, so farmers can plant more trees per hectare and pick them easily.
It became the backbone of Central American and Colombian coffee from the 1970s and is a parent of Catuaí and Catimor.
